Mozambique has also been affected by the Covid-19 epidemic, which is spreading rapidly in crowded neighbourhoods, especially in deprived urban areas. The poorest or most vulnerable people such as single women, people with disabilities, and children, are particularly at risk. Humanity & Inclusion’s (HI) teams led door-to-door campaigns supported by 30 community volunteers trained by the organisation to identify the most vulnerable people in the neighbourhoods of Maputo and Matola.

Some 4,000 people were provided with information on the risks of contamination and Covid-19 protection measures, such as social distancing and handwashing. HI’s teams also provided them with hygiene kits including soap, masks, treated water, and the like. The goal was to ensure no one was forgotten.
