Every child amputee deserves a second chance

Sayed lost his leg after a bombing Sayed lost his leg after a bombing Sayed lost his leg after a bombing Sayed lost his leg after a bombing

A generation of children are losing limbs to war, natural disasters, accidents or diseases. But in countries like Afghanistan where Sayed lives, there is simply no support for child amputees.

We're determined to change that. And you can too.

Join our #ProstheticsForLife campaign today and find out all the ways we are working to ensure that children like Sayed get the second chance they deserve.

Sayed was only five years old when he was seriously injured. He was travelling with his father on the bus when it hit an improvised mine. This remarkable little boy somehow survived but was in critical condition. Although he was operated on immediately, his recovery did not go as well as planned.

Finally, they were forced to make a heartbreaking decision: they would need to  amputate his leg to save his life.

Join our movement today to ensure that every child like Sayed gets the specialist care they need.

In many countries around the world, Humanity & Inclusion is the only organisation supporting child amputees like Sayed. By fitting prosthetics, providing rehabilitation and psychological support, we give hope and long-term support in the most extreme, heart-breaking and difficult circumstances.

But we can’t do it without you.

If you agree that every child amputee deserves a second chance, add your name and join our #ProstheticsForLife campaign.

The Petition

I call on the UK and all States worldwide to:

•  Publicly commit to end the use of explosive weapons with wide-area effects in populated areas;

•  Fully implement the treaties banning landmines and cluster munitions without delay and encourage non-signatory states to sign them;

•  Contribute to assisting the victims, clearing weapons in affected zones, and preventing further injuries and deaths.
