Promoting the rights of people with disabilities
Handicap International opened an office in Bishkek, the capital of neighbouring Kirgyzstan, in August 2009. The team will use this office as its base for developing its activities in Tajikistan.
In order to help promote the most basic rights of people with disabilities and, as a result, reduce their marginalisation and deprivation, Handicap International formed a partnership with a Danish NGO, Mission East, and the Tajik Zarshedabonou association in January 2010.
