Promoting the rights of people with disabilities

Jordan adopted a new law in 2007 to protect the rights of people with disabilities. The existing services are still insufficient, and there is a growing demand. In 2006, Handicap International launched a project to promote the rights of people with disabilities in Irbed and Kerak, in the west of the country. Another project started in 2008 in the town of Dlail to forge partnerships with local associations and to develop adapted public services to improve the participation of people with disabilities in the community.
