Benoît, witness to the earthquakeBenoît Aurenche, 28, no stranger to working in difficult circumstances, was present when the earthquake struck Haiti, where he was running the inter-agency logistics platform. During the days following the disaster, the whole Haiti team redoubled its efforts to respond to the emergency.
Moïse starts to feel betterWhen the earth started to shake, Moïse, aged 4, and his brother Sonel, aged 18 months, were at home. The house collapsed. Sonel, initially trapped under the rubble, was recovered safe and sound. Moïse would have escaped too, but a block fell from the house and split his left foot dorsum. He was rushed to hospital where his foot was rapidly stitched back up by a nurse.
Claudine's storyClaudine Souffrante was gravely injured when her school collapsed during the earthquake. The consequences have enveloped her entire family. She is receiving support from Handicap International's rehabilitation team.
