How does Handicap International develop its education projects?

All Handicap International’s education projects are developed and implemented in collaboration with local and national education partners. These partners are typically disabled children and their families, local community leaders and groups, local education authorities, the ministries of education, social affairs and health, and Disabled Peoples Organisations.

What is Inclusive Education?

Inclusive Education refers to an education system which takes into account the learning and educational support needs of all marginalised and vulnerable children and young people. Handicap International’s work on Inclusive Education has a focus on the education of disabled children.

Where does Handicap International work in education?

Handicap International UK has activities in 15 countries worldwide.

Who are the people and groups you work with on your education projects?

Handicap International works with a range of people from within local communities and national ministries. We believe that disabled children should be at the heart of our work in education. We work with disabled children and their families, community leaders and groups, teachers, local education authorities, Disabled Peoples Organisations and relevant ministries such as education, social affairs, health. We also work in collaboration with other international NGOs working in the field of education.
