Forgotten 10 Challenge for schools

The Forgotten 10 Challenge is your chance to speak out against the scourge of landmines and cluster bombs. From 1st – 10th December 2012 your school can help raise awareness about the impact of these terrible weapons on communities worldwide.
Landmines and cluster bombs are indiscriminate weapons that continue to injure and kill civilians in countries all around the world. They are a significant cause of disability, instilling fear in whole communities, deepening poverty and acting as a lethal barrier to development. That's why this year, we need your help.
How can my school get involved?
There are many ways your school can make a difference, and we can provide free resources to support you.
- First, sign up today to receive your free action pack as soon as it is available!
- Next, decide how you would like to take action, using the pack for ideas. You could hold an assembly, introduce an exhibition, introduce the issues in class or put on a sponsored event.
- Then simply request your free materials using the order form in the pack and we will send them out to you for free!
Why not link your activities with an international day? Don't forget, 3rd December is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. It's also the anniversary of the signing of the 1997 Mine Ban Treaty and the 2008 Convention on Cluster Munitions. And the 10th December is International Human Rights Day!
