As you may have heard by now, Handicap International UK has been awarded a BBC Radio 4 Appeal, which is due to be broadcast this weekend - Sunday 14th August at 7.55am & 9.26pm.

Last week we had the great opportunity to meet Sir Trevor McDonald at BBC Broadcasting House for the recording of our appeal in the BBC studios.

The internationally renowned journalist recorded the appeal to help raise funds for our vital work providing rehabilitation care to amputees in Haiti, following the catastrophic earthquake in January 2010.

Sir Trevor was happy to lend his support: "Because the journalists have all left Haiti we tend to forget that the scars of the earthquake still remain. That's why this appeal is so important."

The TV cameras may have moved on, but our teams are still in Haiti, producing and fitting artificial limbs and supporting amputees to rebuild their lives. The vital funds we raise can change the lives of disabled people in Haiti, so remember to tune in and support our appeal!

Tune in to our Haiti appeal on BBC Radio 4 (92-95 FM) on Sunday 14th August at 7.55am & 9.26pm, repeated on Thursday 18th August at 3.27pm.

Can you help us spread the word? Share this article with your friends, or visit us on Facebook and Twitter and share our updates with your followers. Your support could change the life of a disabled person, so remember to tune in and listen to our appeal!

Tune in to our BBC Radio 4 Appeal - Sun 14th August at 0755 and 2126
