You are here: Our projects > Real People - Real Stories
In "Real People - Real Stories", Handicap International brings you real life stories of some people who benefit from our work abroad.
The people we help range from landmine victims in Cambodia to children with cerebral palsy in Nepal. They may suffer from mental or physical disabilities but they all have one thing in common: with our support, they are trying to achieve a better life for themselves and their families.
Here are some inspiring and uplifting stories:
Nicaragua: Boarneges lost his legs in a car accident. He now has artificial legs and has followed a vocational training |
Rwanda: Aline was orphaned and traumatised by the genocide. She has now found happiness with her new family |
Thailand: U Mong Wing has cerebral palsy. Thanks to Handicap International, she can now sit by herself and is learning to walk. |
Togo: Haketa became paraplegic when she was a baby and is now proud of going to school |
